Role in the project: UASZ is co-leader in WP2 for the development and adaptation of small-scale biobased technologies and conducting R&D for pyrolysis, HTC, bio-composites production, and briquetting. UASZ will also be the BIO4AFRICA pilot case coordinator in Senegal, responsible for the validation of the main outputs of the technologies implementation

Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (UASZ) is a young university unique in its position and geographical location in Senegal to the south and at the crossroads of the Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry. In its early days, the UASZ opened its doors with 257 students divided between 3 faculties - UFR Sciences and Technology, UFR Economics and Social Sciences and UFR Letters, Arts and Humanities. UASZ strongly contributes to enhancing the economic and socio-cultural assets of Casamance and the sub-region, to create the conditions for a lasting peace in this region, which not only contains important cultural and human resources, but also constitutes a strategic axis of sub-regional integration.
